What is Pharmaceutics

Pharmaceutics (science of dosage form design) is the Branch of pharmacy deals with all facets of the process of turning a new chemical entity (NCE) into a dosage form which is safe and effective for administering into the patients for a specified disease. There are many chemicals with known pharmacological properties but a raw chemical is of no use and also we cannot administer directly into the patient. Drug alone if administered we cannot give a guarantee how it is going to react in the body what type of action it shows. If it is combined with the formulation additives we can change the physical, chemical, biological characterstics.after converting drug into dosage form it shows the desired affect in the body. So Pharmaceutics deals with the formulation of a pure drug substance into a dosage form. Pharmaceutics is truly multidisciplinary sciences include physical chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, mathematics, chemical engineering, molecular and cellular biology, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology.
Branches of pharmaceutics include:
                    Pharmacokinetics
                    Pharmacodynamics
                    Pharmacoepidemiology
                    Pharmacogenomics
                    Pharmacovigilance
                    Pharmaceutical formulation
                    Pharmaceutical technology
