Pterocarpus Marsupium(Indian Kino Tree)

Common Name: Indian Kino Tree, Malabar Kino Tree, Kino
Plant name: Pterocarpus Marsupium
Chemical constituents:  Main chemical components are liquiritigenin, isoliquiritigenin, pterosupin, epicatechin, pterostilbene, kinotannic acid, beta-eudesmol, marsupol, carpusin, marsupinol, kinoin and kino-red.
 Uses:
The heart wood is astringent, bitter acrid, anti inflammatory, anthelmintic, anodyne.
 It is considered as magical for Diabities.
 It is good for elephantiasis, leucoderma, diarrhoea, dysentary, rectalgia and cough .
The bark is used as an astringent and in toothache.
The bruised leaves are considered useful as an external application for boils, sores and skin diseases.
